Day 1: Casablanca to Fes via Rabat

Your Morocco itinerary 6 days begins right in Casablanca from your hotel or airport, where you will meet your driver and tour guide. After a morning visit to the magnificent Hassan II Mosque, you will hit the road heading north toward the administrative capital, Rabat, where you will visit the Hassan Tower and the Old Kasbah Oudayas. Afterwards, you will continue to Fes.

  • Activities: Tour the Oudayas Kasbah and the iconic Hassan Tower in Rabat.
  • Driving Time: Approximately 4 hours total.
  • Overnight: A traditional, cozy Riad nestled inside the Fes medina.

Day 2: Full day exploring Fes

Dedicate today entirely to unlocking the mysteries of Fes, widely considered the beating cultural heart of Morocco. A local expert guide will take you step-by-step through a history that spans over a millennium.

  • Activities: Visit the world-famous Chouara Tannery, the architectural marvel of Bou Inania Medersa, and the ancient Al-Qarawiyyin University.

  • Atmosphere: Vibrant, historic, and sensory-rich with the aroma of spices and handcrafted leather.

  • Overnight: Same Riad in Fes.

Day 3: Fes to Merzouga desert through Ifrane.

Brace yourself for the longest but most scenic driving day of your Morocco itinerary 6 days. You will climb through the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains, where you will spot wild Barbary macaques, before dropping down into the vast, palm-fringed Ziz Valley and arriving at the gateway to the Sahara desert, where you will experience a camel ride over the dunes and watch a magical sunset from the sand dunes. Afterwards, you will continue on camels to the camp where you will stay the night, and traditional drum music under the starry sky.

  • Activities: Brief stop in Ifrane (often called the “Switzerland of Morocco”), lunch in Midelt, and a magical sunset camel trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes.
  • Overnight: A desert camp among the dunes of Merzouga, complete with a traditional Berber dinner and live drum music around a campfire.

Day 4: Full day exploring the desert

The fourth day of our 6 day Morocco itinerary will begin in the morning after breakfast, we will do an amazing desert expedition tour around Erg Chebbi by a 4×4 vehicle.

Drive through the Erg Chebbi dunes, and visit the nomadic family, before we head to the village of dark-skinned people (village of the Gnaoua), originally slaves of Sudan. There, we will wander through the village, discovering its most delicious food, traditions, and the typical Sahara life, like listening to Gnaoua music and their experience of the lifestyle. Try a traditional, tasty Berber Pizza (Madfouna) in the local restaurant in the desert.

In the evening, you have free time either to chill out in the hotel, enjoy a swimming pool in the heart of the desert, or venture on some desert activities such as Quad biking.

Day 5: Merzouga to Dades valley through Todra Gorge.

Wake up early to witness a breathtaking Sahara sunrise over the dunes before leaving the desert behind. Today’s route will take you through ancient irrigation systems and the spectacular river canyons of Todra Gorge, where you can enjoy a free walk under the high cliffs of Todra Gorge. Afterwards, we will continue our 6-day tour from Casablanca to Dades Valley.

  • Activities: Walk beneath the 300-meter-high sheer rock walls of the Todra Gorges.
  • Scenery: Dramatic rock formations, sweeping palm groves, and winding mountain passes.
  • Overnight: A charming hotel or boutique Kasbah overlooking the dramatic landscapes of the Dades Valley.

Day 6: Dades Valley to Marrakech via Ait BenHaddou.

Today is the last day of your 6-day Morocco tour. After a delicious breakfast at your hotel, take a scenic drive to Ait Ben Haddou, passing through the enchanting Valley of Roses and Ouarzazate.

You have the option of visiting the Atlas Studio in Ouarzazate, where there are collections of movie scenes preserved in this studio. You can also choose to stop and take some memorable photos from outside before continuing.

The first major stop for sightseeing, which is the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is also known for a set of major Hollywood epics filmed, such as Game of Thrones, Kingdom of Heaven, Lawrence of Arabia, and Gladiator etc.

Last, we will cross the windy, adventurous roads of Tizi N’Tichka Pass, passing by thousands of Kasbahs, and going back to Marrakech. Our endpoint would be in Marrakech, the red city, where your Morocco itinerary 6 days comes to an end with a drop-off at your hotel or Riad.
