ITINERARY OF THE 6 DAYS TOUR FROM FES TO MERZOUGA DESERT
DAY 1 : Sightseeing in Fes
We will start our 6 days tour from Fes to Merzouga desert by picking you up at the airport and drop you off at your hotel in Fez for freshen up and rest. (in case you have just landed in the airport). If you are already in Fes your local guide will come to you wherever you are in Fes, to start your visit around Fes, where you can see a variety of crafts, with a brief interest in history and monuments.
We will explore Morocco’s religious capital, “Fez,” one of the imperial cities of Morocco. Fez has one of the largest Medinas in the Arab world, as well as Madrasas, Souks (famous for the variety of spices), Al-Karaouine, the oldest university in the world, mosques, plazas, neighborhood Andalusians and potters, palaces, and museums. Fez is the artisan capital of Morocco.
When the trip is finished your guide will accompany you to your accommodation.
DAY 2 : Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Merzouga Dunes
The second day of 6 Days tour from Fes to Merzouga desert your driver will Pick you up from your Fes riad/Hotel at 8:00 a.m, then start our 6 days desert trip from Fes through the winding roads of the middle Atlas Mountains that is full beautiful landscape of Berber villages.
Our next stop will be at Ifrane city also known as Switzerland city of Morocco, to admire the cool weather and the magnificent European architecture, which gives Ifrane its unique gorgeous touch.
After that, we will continue our 6 days desert tour from Fes toward the largest Cedar Forest in Azrou, to walk through the highest Cedar trees, also observing the Barbarian apes on the trees.
Afterwards we will follow our 6 days Fes to Merzouga desert tour to Midelt, the Berber town which is known for its international apples festival. Our lunch will be at this beautiful town
After lunch we will hit the road to the largest oasis, where we are going to do the last stop for photographing the largest river in Morocco, called Ziz valley.
Continue to the final point of the first day in the Sahara Desert, where your camels are waiting for you to ride your camels through the highest golden sand-dune of Merzouga, as we admire the magical sunset before it goes down.
We will spend the first night in the amazing luxury camp surrounded by the dunes. After a traditional meal we will start a small nomad party, gathering around the campfire, playing drums, dancing with the local nomads, and sleeping under the starry sky in the nomad’s tent.
DAY 3 : Desert Erg Chebbi - Merzouga Desert Tour
After breakfast at the luxury camp, we offer you many options to choose: you can go on an amazing expedition tour around Sahara desert Merzouga by vehicle 4×4, or motor Quads, You may go to explore the Berbers nomadic families in a remote place near the border between Morocco and Algeria. We will do a stop with some of the nomads family to explore and get to know about their lifestyle with a break under their tent.
Later we will head to take a look at the mines near the sand dunes that were used by the colonization of France, also we will do an adventurous off-road tour inside the dunes.
Next stop will be at Khamlia (village of the Gnaoua) originally slaves of Sudan, we will get to know their unique traditional music, strange dance and much more about them.
Enjoy the swimming pool in summer months, or climb dunes in front of your hotel or in the camp in the heart of the Sahara desert.
DAY 4 : Desert Erg Chebbi - Rissani – Erfoud – Ouarzazate
After breakfast, we will travel to Rissani and old Sijilmasa, a sourcing center for ancient Saharan caravans.
We will continue our 6 days tour from Fes through a semi-desert landscape until we reach the oasis of Tinghir, one of Morocco’s most beautiful places.
We will take a short walk under a high cliffs around 300m height, of Todgha Gorge, We will travel along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to Ouarzazate, one of the most important cities in southern Morocco, known for its intense and cinematic activities, had produced films such as Gladiator, Troy, The Mummy, and other list of films. Your guide or driver will suggest you visit one of the best visited sites in Ouarzazate.
Later on, you will end your 6 days tour from Fes to Marrakech in a stunning hotel in Ouarzazate.
DAY 5 : Ouarzazate – Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
After breakfast, we will travel to At Benhaddou, the Queen of Kasbahs declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. you will go with your guide to discover its features and history and more about it.
We will continue our 6 days tour from Fes to the imperial city of Marrakech via the port of the highest mountains pass of Morocco, called Tizi n’Tichka (2,260 m) where you will enjoy beautful landscapes and panoramic views.
Overnight in traditional Riad in Marrakech.
DAY 6 : Marrakech sightseeing
We will go to explore and visit Marrakech after breakfast. The city was once inhabited by a tribe from the other side of the Atlas Mountains who brought with them a plentiful supply of dates, palms, and bones.
The city is known as “The Red City” because of the color of its walls and is filled with gardens that are watered by underground wells (called Khettaras in Moroccan) built in the eleventh century by the Almoravids dynasty and Saharan nomads.
Following that, we will visit some of the most visited sites, including Menara, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, the Koutoubia, Majorelle Gardens, and traditional Souks.
Discovering the square “Djemaa El Fna,” where the city’s life and activities are concentrated, will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience: Performers include dancers, storytellers, jugglers, artisans, merchants, and snake charmers.

Stunning 6 days desert trip from Fes
The best trip by far! I loved our tour with Hassan. He took us to all the must see attractions and he was very patient with us as we stopped by a few shops for souvenirs. Hassan also invited us to his house for tea! Super hospitable. He would definitely go back to Morocco again
