DAY 1 : Sightseeing in Fes

We will start our 6-day tour from Fes to Merzouga desert by picking you up at the airport and dropping you off at your hotel in Fez for freshen up and rest. (in case you have just landed at the airport). If you are already in Fes your local guide will come to you wherever you are in Fes, to start your visit around Fes, where you can see a variety of crafts, with a brief interest in history and monuments.

We will explore Morocco’s religious capital, “Fez,” one of Morocco’s imperial cities. Fez has one of the largest Medinas in the Arab world, as well as Madrasas, Souks (famous for the variety of spices), Al-Karaouine, the oldest university in the world, mosques, plazas, neighborhood Andalusians and potters, palaces, and museums. Fez is the artisan capital of Morocco. 

When the trip is finished your guide will accompany you to your accommodation.

DAY 2 : Fes - Ifrane - Midelt - Merzouga Dunes

Our 6 days tour from Fes to Merzouga desert begins early in the morning as you depart from the city of Fes. As you drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains, you’ll pass charming Berber villages and cedar forests, making a first stop in Ifrane, known as the “Switzerland of Morocco,” for its alpine-style architecture. Continuing our drive, you’ll reach the town of Midelt, where you’ll enjoy a lunch break. As you approach to the Ziz Valley, you’ll be mesmerized by the dotted palm groves and fortified villages. By late afternoon, you’ll arrive in Merzouga desert, at the edge of the Sahara Desert. Here, you’ll switch to camels for an unforgettable trek across the golden sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, spending a night at a traditional desert camp. As night falls, savor a delicious Moroccan dinner under a starry sky, and enjoy local music around the bonfire.

DAY 3 : Desert Erg Chebbi - Merzouga Desert Tour

After breakfast at the luxury camp, we offer you many options to choose from: you can go on an amazing expedition tour around the Sahara desert Merzouga by vehicle 4×4, or motor Quads, You may go to explore the Berber nomadic families in a remote place near the border between Morocco and Algeria. We will make a stop with some of the nomads family to explore and get to know about their lifestyle with a break under their tent. Later we will head to take a look at the mines near the sand dunes that were used by the colonization of France, also we will do an adventurous off-road tour inside the dunes.

The next stop will be at Khamlia  (village of the Gnaoua) originally slaves of Sudan, we will get to know their unique traditional music, strange dance and much more about them. 

Enjoy the swimming pool in the summer months, or climb dunes in front of your hotel or in the camp in the heart of the Sahara desert.

DAY 4 : Desert Erg Chebbi - Rissani - Todra Gorge - Dades Gorge

Highly recommend waking up early to witness the breathtaking sunrise over the dunes before enjoying a fresh breakfast. Your 6-day desert tour from Fes continues as you leave the desert behind and head towards Rissani an old historical city very known for its vibrant local old market, if you coincide with one of its weekly markets, we can do a short walk around it. Later we will drive to Todra Gorge, a stunning canyon with towering rock cliffs that attract climbers from around the world. Take a leisurely walk through the gorge to enjoy its natural beauty. After lunch, you’ll travel through the scenic Dades Valley, known for its dramatic landscapes and the winding road of the “Dades Gorges.” Here, you’ll see stunning rock formations called “Monkeys Fingers”. Spend the night in a charming hotel.

DAY 5 : Dades Gorge - Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech

We’ll leave the Dades Valley and head to Ouarzazate, the historic city known as the “Gateway to the Sahara.” Visit the historic Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and favorite filming location for numerous Hollywood productions. Explore the historic fortified village with its clay structures and twisting lanes, which provide an insight into Morocco’s rich history and culture. After lunch, you’ll continue your 6 days desert tour from Fes over the High Atlas Mountains, passing via the dramatic Tizi n’Tichka pass, which offers breathtaking views. And finally to Marrakech’s colorful cityscape. Arrive in Marrakech by late afternoon, where your day experience will end.

DAY 6 : Marrakech sightseeing

We will go to explore and visit Marrakech after breakfast. You will have almost a full day to explore this bustling city with a local guide who will come personally to escort you from your Riad.

The city is known as “The Red City” because of the color of its walls and is filled with gardens that are watered by underground wells (called Khettaras in Moroccan) built in the eleventh century by the Almoravids dynasty and Saharan nomads. 

Following that, we will visit some of the most visited sites, including Menara, the Saadian Tombs, the Bahia Palace, the Koutoubia, Majorelle Gardens, and traditional Souks. Discovering the square “Djemaa El Fna,” where the city’s life and activities are concentrated, will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience: Performers include dancers, storytellers, jugglers, artisans, merchants, and snake charmers.

    Best 6 days Fes desert tour

    We had a 6 day desert tour fro Fes to Marrakech. I would recommend this trip for anyone visiting Morocco. Our guide, Hassan, was very accommodating, helpful, and knowledgeable on the area. He answered all of our questions and also introduced us to some great Berber music along the way! We especially enjoyed traveling through the remote parts of the desert and getting to see some absolutely stunning landscapes.

    Amazing 6 day tour through Atlas Mountains and Sahara Desert!
    We travelled as a family of 4 and were wonderfully looked after by our tour guide, Hassan, who grew up close to the Sahara and so could tell us many amazing facts about the area.
    We stayed at nice hotels and stopped along the way at great lunch venues which catered for my fussy kids!
