NEW YEAR IN MOROCCO

Celebrating New Year in Morocco exactly in the desert of Morocco can be an incredibly unique and memorable experience. The Moroccan desert, particularly the Sahara Desert, offers a stunning backdrop for ringing in the new year.

Open your mind to great emotions, images difficult to describe as it is the sunset and dawn in the desert surrounded by giant dunes, visit movie cities, ride a camel, adrenaline in pure state on the quad route by the sea of sand, visit and enjoy the company of a nomadic Berber family while we taste their tea, and spend the night in the desert in an authentic jaima, after hearing the wonderful percussion of Berber drums breaking the silence of the night, under the cloak of stars that fly over you.

Bonfires and Stargazing: The clear desert skies are perfect for stargazing. Many New Year’s celebrations in the desert include bonfires where you can gather around with fellow travelers, enjoy local cuisine, and watch the stars come out.

Countdown to Midnight: As the clock nears midnight, you can join in the countdown with your fellow travelers. Many camps and groups arrange for festive celebrations that may include fireworks, music, dancing, and traditional Moroccan dishes.

Quiet Reflection: The serene desert environment also allows for quiet reflection as you transition into the new year. The vastness of the landscape can help you appreciate the passage of time and your place in the world.

Challenging Weather: Remember that desert temperatures can be extreme, especially during the winter months. Nights can be cold, so make sure to bring warm clothing and layers to stay comfortable.

Booking in Advance: Given the popularity of celebrating New Year’s Eve in the desert, it’s advisable to book your accommodations and activities well in advance to secure your spot.

Cultural Considerations: As with any travel, it’s important to respect local customs and traditions. Learn about Moroccan culture and etiquette to ensure you have a respectful and enjoyable experience.
